GUIDE / GOVERNANCE
What did Council actually decide?
Heard about a decision? Let’s find the item, read the report and see what happened.

Find the meeting first.
Start with the City’s Council and Committees calendar. Look for the meeting date, agenda item and supporting report. Keep the original link so you can return to it.
Follow the same question through the record.
- Read the proposal in the agenda and staff report. What is being asked for?
- Check the minutes and meeting video. What changed during the discussion?
- Look for the recorded decision. Keep a proposal, a committee recommendation and a Council decision separate.
- Write down what you still want answered, with the item title and meeting date.
Bring a useful question.
If you want to raise the issue at a meeting, follow the City’s current request process and deadlines. You can also share the public source and your question with the Coalition.
